From the Fall and Holiday 1987 catalogue: “A heathery pullover inspired by our rambles and scrambles in the fells (mountains) of England’s Lake District. We spun Shetland wool\u2013beloved for its felicitous blend of warmth and lightness\u2013in three soft earth-and-sky hues, then added subtle nubs and flecks of color like the wildflowers in the English landscape. We were so pleased with the result that we made it fully machine-washable and dryable\u2013the better to keep it with us always, in drafty castle and damp pub, rowing on lochs and trekking across moors.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
