Our Correspondent’s Skirt offers a neat compromise: slim and flattering, it’s also as cannily constructed as a press conference question. Deep cargo pockets hold notebooks, Polaroids, and press pass; buttoned bellows pockets expand to carry business cards, pencils, extra film, packets of instant coffee. Two more pockets in back keep lunch receipts, messages from editors and long-distance bills safely out of sight. Fore and aft are deep pleats to expedite pursuit of slippery sources. Most reasonably priced, in three no-nonsense neutrals, this skirt covers everything from a coup d’etat to a state dinner.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
