Short Sleeved Expedition Shirt

Originally sold as part of the Expedition Outfit in 1984, this shirt was reissued on its own in summer 1987.

From the catalogue: “Any expedition is a foray into the imagination as much as a geographic journey. Our Short-Sleeved Expedition Shirt-in touch 100% cotton canvas, pre-washed for suppleness-is designed with creative exploration in mind. What better expeditioneer to evaluate it than cryptozoologist Roy Mackal?”

Dr. Mackal goes on to testify: “A slog through the Likouala Swamps in the Congo People’s Republic is not to be undertaken lightly. Clothing is the first line of defense against infection by the parasites, bacteria, and fungi in the waist-deep muck and floating grass. Nothing fills the bill better than the all-cotton canvas Expedition Shirt. And the epaulets prevent shoulder-strap slippage under stressful conditions-like the chance of actually confronting the creature we came to find.”
